I’m going to post this more than once.
It pushes the fact that people need to take charge of their health and fitness.
Still blows my mind every time I see it.

The importance of having a healthy morning cannot be stressed enough. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, how you treat the morning really does set your body’s tone for the rest of the day. A fantastic, easy way to boost your metabolism, improve your posture, lower stress, and wake your mind up is a combination of light exercise and cold water. Right after you open your eyes, have a glass of ice-cold water. This will not only rehydrate you from a long night of body repair, but it gets calories burning and blood flowing by forcing your system to warm the water. Then, use light exercise to follow up that metabolic boost. Think simple and relaxing.  Just find a comfy spot on the floor (use a towel or blanket if necessary) near a wall that is far away from any high traffic area— nobody wants to be hit with the back of a door or stepped on in the morning shuffle. Rest your feet on the wall and slowly slide your butt closer and closer until your body is at a full 90 degree angle and your cheeks are pressed closely to the floorboard. Keep your feet together and calmly place your arms gently on the floor above your head. Just lie there for a while and forget the world— you’d be surprised how much this simple activity benefits the body and mind. If done routinely, these few short moments of yoga-esque meditation can improve posture and clear the mind to allow full relaxation. Just try not to fall back asleep.

Any advice for sudden cravings for specific food?

I have had a lot of these lately, and cave into them frequently.
Have gained 4 pounds back and feel I need a little motivational poke from my tumblr friends.

I have decided not to weigh myself until I like the way I look and feel.

That glass scale is going in a box in the cabinet until I’m ready for it.
The number is not what’s important, it’s the ability for me to care about myself and be satisfied with the way I look.

I never want to hit what truly makes me happy, but push myself too far just to meet a number quota. Sometimes there are other things that are more important.

I hope this can assist others with the weighty holiday blues. Feel free to ask any questions, if necessary. Good luck!

My name is Jen and I am a 19 year-old recovering from a rather nasty food addiction and eating disorder. Each time I tried any weight loss routine, I ended up reverting back into my unsafe habits (gaining large amounts of weight and doing awful things to my body). I am truly trying to overcome this with a proper diet and healthy lifestyle-- the correct way. This blog shall follow me on my journey. I shall be posting about my progress, delicious vegetarian food, and information that I hope will assist others on similar endeavors.
